Just wondering if you can use an XP service pac 2 upgrade version to make the ubcd4win or do you need XP's full version?

Thanks:)

Have you tried it?

Yes it does work, but TBH if you need spoonfeeding on compiling the disk I doubt if the end product will be of much use to you as a tool.

Sorry if that sounds a bit aloof, but if you're setting up in business to solve other people's problems then you really should be capable of working such things out for yourself.

are you sure you can use the sp2 upgrade to make a ubcd4win, dont you need a full install disk.

The upgrade disk only checks if there's a qualifying OS already installed, the I386 directory is all the same.

You can simply place the disc in the drive and tell it to scan for install media. If it shows up, great, if not too bad. Either way it will answer your question in two clicks.

thanks,

I think I'm going to pick up my pizza :)

Hey I'm always eating Pizza too it seems, especially this week! I just made two disks myself, a stripped down one to fit on a cd and a full on dvd cuz some older pc only have cd drives. I used a copy of xp pro with sp3 slipstreamed for the source. I was happy to see the new version has malwarebytes on it now. If you don't have a cd the program will scan the system your working on for the files it needs too, but it takes a while.
