Any TSMan users noticed the TSMAN forum has gone from their site.

I noticed a few people getting restless and asking about when TSMAN 2010 was going to arrive since it was announced about 10 months ago and many delays since.

Some comments about it being late were removed and a seperate V3 forum setup. Now they've taken them all down. Seems the publishers don't like the criticism?

This company is no good to do this to their customers. I sure won't ever trust them especially since they took down the forum.

If they don't like due dates then they shouldn't announce them or even talk about it.

If I took an extra year to do something I am pretty sure I wouldn't have a job.

It's not good PR.

I know Truecrypt used to shut the forum before a new release but at least they made it clear what and why they were doing it.

The way these guys have done it just leaves you in the dark

Good grief. So they don't even know the price of it yet.

I bought TSman 2009 partly on the basis that there was new version coming out which I would get for no extra cost and that would include a couple of key features I want such as the ability to enter onsite jobs properly and some inventory. If that isn't going to be the case and it's not even going to be released anytime soon then I'm not going to be happy.

I bought it 4 weeks ago so I would have thought I would be upgraded free. I suppose it depends if they are going to support 2009 for bugs or not.

I trust they realize that this shoddy treatment of existing customers is destroying credibility with potential new purchasers.

I know we won't touch it and it was on our buy list - just waiting for 3.

Talking about TSMAN - one thing I'd really like is for me to be able to use it onsite to fill in details and maybe print an invoice etc. I realise there is a portable version but that requires internet connectivity which isn't always feasible and people have reported it's too slow to use anyway.

So I was wondering how hard it would be to use say Dropbox or other sync app to sync the database files between my laptop and my desktop. That way I could have an up to date version on both and have them sync back at base.

Anyone done this or have any thoughts?

That should work OK if you sync the database file and you are the only one that uses TS Man BUT if you aren't the only one that uses it then it definitely won't work.

I use it over the internet all the time. It is a little slow at certain points but nothing I mind. I hope they move to the web soon though. Most onsite people just write things up. It so much easier and faster at least for me it is.

ATSCF- You still using your custom access database, or did you finally decide to go with TSMAN for your work orders/tracking?

I see the forum is back up. There is some pricing on it too. I'm slightly dismayed really. They appear to have gone down the Commit route of charging more for the addons. All the way through the unbelievably long wait for the new version I've been hearing it will have this and that feature including inventory. Now it seems you have to pay an extra $200 for that feature.

I'm finding the way it's been handled a little off-putting. The developer seems a little defensive about it all and instead of apologising for the very long wait and saying that it's unlikely to be ready for x months he just keeps quiet about it leaving everyone in the dark.

Just been reading the forums and yes they do have an attitude. It just shows their immaturity if they can't deal with a bit of flak now and then. Luckily I bought mine after Sept 1st and therefore get a free upgrade.

Just noticed it was 2009 not 2010:o
