Tools for performance metrics

Can anyone recommend a tool that will show me performance changes when changing a system from a traditional hard drive to a solid state unit? The performance I am looking for is start-up/shutdown times and general performance. I like to have raw numbers and cant seem to find a tool for what I am looking for.

I have used this before, but is just a general benchmark. I would like something that is timed for startup shutdown that generates a report that can be printed.

Ill try this, though it doesnt seem to have any way of logging start and shutdown times.

Deosn't windows event logs track startup / shutdown events? Records when event log started and "stopped" states during shutdown . Could make Runonce event to write time to a file.
Stopwatch ? Surely theres' an app for that

I'm surprised this doesn't exist - I can see where it might be useful. I'm sad they killed the experience index in Win8 - I sold a lot of RAM to folks trying for that elusive 7.9 score!

I remember Bootvis as well - it was a useful tool for troubleshooting bootup issues back in the day.
