Well im surprised at your post. You clearly didn't follow the entire thread nor did you read the information posted by some really smart experienced members.

It seems like you read a few posts jumped at the end and wrote a bunch of nonsense that makes you look stupid.

I you wanna follow a thread do it, find out what has been said, then respond intelligently or stay out all together.

Maybe maybe not. Lot of prior still like the form factor of laptops and desktop pc's. My phone is great but come on. Look how big of a flop Windows 8 was.

Windows 9 promises to put all techs out of business

I originally thought a few years back that with some of the things windows 8 was going to do that it may slow down some business in the residential market.

If anything though 8 seemed to make it harder for regular joes to know how to the do the most basic things. If anything 8 has brought some pretty easy jobs to me such as adding in classic start and setting up email with something other than the crappy one that comes with 8 etc.

Aol is still in use. People don't like change. Change happens. I say get use to the different things and see. I have customers who don't like to install updates on their iphone. Some customers buy a mac and returned it. Some customers want to sync everything.

Actually, I read hightechrex's post two years ago and agreed. Fast forward to today and I still have the same standpoint. Desktop computers aren't going anywhere, they have practical uses that cannot be replaced. The end of the "Windows PC" as portrayed in 2007, might be dying--products change and evolve. Computers are becoming mobile and the demand for portable electronics is increasing.

Most of my customers opt for a tablet, a phone, and a desktop computer. They want all the content and files to sync automatically. They want things simple and easy. If anything, it creates more work for us experienced techs. The average Joe, or grandpa and grandma, might opt for a tablet before a PC because of it's simplicity. Grandma might even have a Surface Pro given to her by one of her grandkids. But guess what! That Surface Pro isn't perfect. It's still a computer, and she will still need help setting it up and maintaining it.

And if you do SMB for a living, businesses will still need workstations, servers, and of course...all the IT related services (aka recurring revenue) that comes with a business network. Yeah some things are moving to cloud based..but they still need someone to server/maintain/manage that.

Some writing has been on the wall for residential computers for well over 10 years now..but not for SMB.

Lol, I remember reading this thread (I thought I responded to it) and have responded to a few like them over the years.

My business is thriving and have seen a significant YoY increase in business dealing with the "dead PC". Lot's of new laptops out there.
