Test drive the ScreenConnect Cloud!

What the pricing on this?

I currently rent a linux VPS to host my screenconnect. Would be interested to see how the £££ compares.

Self-hosted/on-premise will be cheaper in the long run for people who are able to do it inexpensively (or free) like yourself. I'm guessing that VPS runs you around $5/mo ... and you can use the VPS for other stuff.

Our main goal with the cloud is to provide an alternative for customers who are not interested in the self-hosted model. We have no plans to change anything about the self-hosted model, and I specifically want to avoid having artificial stuff in the product that would favor either model over the other. However, there will be inherent advantages and disadvantages of each model. We'll be speaking to those soon.

I am currently testing the "Cloud" service and am very impressed so far with the features compared to logmein which I currently use. I am not that interested in the self hosted product as I don't really want the hassle of having another piece of hardware to support. I will be very interested in how much this service costs in comparison to my current logmein subscription.

I was up and running in minutes after sending the initial domain request.

Testing going well.

I am testing this as well and I like it alot. I can't wait to see the pricing model and what all is included. Good job screenconnect.

What if we already have a SC license but would like to switch to the cloud option, what would the cost bet?
I want to get rid of our ageing sbs2008 box.

tested it out today and its good, no problems. really would like to see the pricing on this as well!

did a remote session this evening worked well, i would say this lady that i used to test this one, is a regular customer, she is NO expert and was able to get connected with ease!!

Very smooth product I am going to continue giving it a spin!!

I would love to here the pricing

Trouble with firewalled network.

Today I tested it from another customer location. I was not able to do a connection because I was not allowed to install software on the machine I was using.

Not tried the cloud version yet but installed the normal trail version on a Pc and testing it now. Seems to work well and I like the way that I can integrate the link to the session on my web site making it easy for the end user to connect.

Have not been able to get the unattended version to work yet. When trying to run the agent on the far end PC get 2503 / 2502 errors. Need to spend some time later looking at this part again.

I have two licenses for ScreenConnect (so I can have two sessions going at a time) and absolutely love it. I use GFI but have since totally ditched the built in TeamViewer. The cost wasn't an issue, ScreenConnect is just faster and easier to use. The price is very reasonable as well. I run it on a little MicroServer here at the office that performs various other tasks as well, the SC footprint is tiny. You could probably host the server on a TI83 graphing calculator.

I also use it for team video/audio conference calls to discuss projects.

This is an excellent product and I would highly recommend any tech to take up Jake's offer here as I'm sure you'll be hooked immediately.

The cloud is using an alpha version. Contact ScreenConnect support, and they can figure it out.

Yep, mine is run on a Microserver, also running UniFi.

Have been testing the cloud service for nearly 2 weeks now from various locations whilst on holiday using WiFi, 3G and 4G data connections with no problems. The client for iPad and iPhone does not work currently but Jake explained this is due to the Alpha version that is being used for the trial. I am now very interested in finding out what the pricing for the service will be in comparison to Logmein which i currently use.

We've also been testing the ScreenConnect (SC) Cloud. It's been slow going, but mostly due to learning SC itself, especially since the available documentation is written assuming the server is self-hosted.

So far, we've had good response from SC support regarding questions.

I asked about potential pricing, but they said they're still working on that and hope to have more information "soon".

The one show-stopper for us so far is the inability to update options that are set in files that reside on the server itself. There are many option changes you can make using the dashboard and those work just fine. But we also need to make a few changes to the app.config file on the server itself and we don't have access to the physical server. SC support says they're looking at a way to provide that ability, but don't have an answer at this time.

Time will tell, but I'm encouraged by what I see so far.

Screenconnect do we have an eta on a possible sneak peak price? This software will be the next big purchase I make. :)

Have been using the cloud service test for a few weeks and found it to be stable and more than suitable for my remote support needs when compared to logmein which I currently use.

I am interested in the future pricing of this service.

One negative note would be the cancellation of the trial. The service was simply ended and I was unable to access the domain setup for me. I had to contact support to find out if there was a problem, only to be notified that the trial had ended.

This could have been communicated better.

I've also been testing the SC Cloud test for a while. Their support was quite responsive, but I was perplexed by quite a few holes in the product, such as no support doc for the Cloud version, no way to update config.app (which resides on the server itself), and most of all, no info as to pricing.

Found out that this is an ALPHA test and a lot remains to be fleshed out. Maybe it was mentioned somewhere, but I never saw it. Always thought we were doing early-test of a product about to be released.

I like what I saw, but now understand why a lot of answers were along the lines of "we haven't determined that yet".

Will be interested to try again when they're ready for a BETA test.

I enjoying testing however there is still crickets on the pricing and how that is going to work...

just the other day my trail died without warning, i can't even access my url anymore

anyone hard anything from them?
