Take a look at this (pizza tech) support plan.

Search birmingham geeks. If you saw mine don't laugh to hard. I'm working on it.
You're in Anniston, AL? and they have two places one in Birmingham, MI and one in Grosse Pointe, MI?

The gp geek website looks almost identical to the birmingham geek website.

And the gp geek is a member of the Grosse Pointe chamber

No laughing at your site, I think it looks good.

You know I didn't notice they weren't in Alabama. When I searched the Birmingham, AL. area they came up for some reason. At least now I know never relocate to Birmingham, MI.

I'm thinking what is happening is that they opened their second location and they temporarily lowered their prices to be as a special in the advertisements of the new branch, and also they are trying to get rid of any competition in the new area.

Think about what you would do if you opened up shop in a new area. They probably don't feel as if they will be losing money by giving their services away almost for free I'll bet they think of it more as money being spent on advertising.

Also not all their prices are low like their $15 monthly plan, they have a flat in-shop fee of $125 and on-site is $100 an hour. I'll bet those fees were not in any of their advertisements. Get a foothold in the new area by getting customers with you for 6 months or a year and get rid of all the competition and then they can raise the monthly plan fee when their contract is up.

I don't know them except for what I've seen online, but they don't seem to be "pizza techs". I wouldn't have know anything at all about them if you haven't posted about them. I sure they have a lot of people talking (advertising) about them, maybe this should have been posted under Technicians Eyes Only.

My "pizza tech" referral was more related to the pricing.

Interesting point on the attempt to eliminate the competition. Might backfire on them. They might just get clients based on that price. I know some don't like working with those types. I don't mind myself. They have their place in line, which is usually last. If they don't like that they can call someone else. Those clients might leave when they raise prices. One thing about competition in our field, it's never gone.

Another side effect is they sign up a lot of new clients. The ones who will tie them up all the time. That could effect other "good" clients where they make their $100 an hour. They will find someone else while telling everyone their experience.

Do I read it right that this is remote only? See one line says Unlimited Hardware Installs. Unless every PC is brought in, if possible, they are selling $85 / hr on site service. Am I wrong?

$15 per month for all of those "Unlimited" services. They must have a lot of faith in their AV solution that they won't be doing many cleanup or removals, or they just have a lot of time on their hands and love to piddle in peoples PC's all day long for pennies on the hour.

Either way, advertising prices like those are part of what is devaluing the overall service rates in this industry. If they recognized the actual value of what they are selling, they wouldn't try to low ball their rates into less than minimum wage to get clients. Once the clients see or purchase services at those rates, they will expect it all of the time from every provider as the perceived value is diminished to less than nothing. Even when pizza pete goes out of business (and they always do), the next shop they call will be "way too expensive" at normal rates because petes rates have already set a precedent. It takes good salesmanship and a lot of effort to re-educate the consumer when pete exits.

Work smarter, not harder.
