I have a machine running Windows 7 business 64-bit and Office 2013. For some reason when typing in word (or using Quicken) there is a delay every 5-30 seconds when typing. The letters will just stop showing up and then quickly catch up.
I've run a full hardware diagnostic with no issues found. I also swapped out the RAM modules one at a time just to make sure it was not a issue with one of the sticks.
A virus/malware scan did find and remove a few minor things as well as the user variant of ZeroAccess. As far as I can tell the system is totally clean now.
I updated the video and the chipset drivers
I've tried office safe mode
I've done a clean boot and the issue remains
I removed the existing Anti-virus software, thinking maybe it was causing it
I can't test it in Windows safe mode because Office won't start in safe mode <--LAME!
Typing in notepad does not have the same issue, but any office program and quicken still do
Maybe ZA did some damage I'm not seeing or something else is gunked up in the OS.
I'm at my wits end and I'm thinking I'm just going to reload the OS. We have a image backup of the system but the user does not really know when the issue started, so that will only really help in restoring data.
Anyone have any thoughts before I just say screw it and reload the OS?
