Dual 8x core Xeons with 20 megs cache each
64 gigs of RAM
8x 2.5" hot swap SAS drive which will be setup in a pair of RAID 10
8x NICs
Dual power supplies

Gonna be a hyper-V host...to replace the 5 servers in the cabinet in the bottom picture. For some of you old timers...."Yes that is a Proliant G3 in the cabinet".

One ones to be discarded..

What are you planning on doing with that old equipment?

After wiping of course...
Dispose of the old servers, the old tape drive,
Probably keep the two matching DL380 G5 servers in our boneyard as spare parts. Plenty of other clients out there with that vintage server which might need spare parts in a hurry.
Those 2 "servers" on the bottom are just Precision workstations running a baby SQL app for an EMR program they use, Optimus. They provide those "servers" for their clients.

There's actually a tower on the side, (you can see a Ubiquiti Unifi base on it) a G4 Proliant, running..."gasp"...Server 2000. It's their DC. LOL!
Yeah..will be a fun migration. :D

Smart move holding onto those HP machines, I have run into more then a few myself.

That top precision looks like one of the newer generations. If your planning on discarding that I may be interested in taking it off your hands.

Just drilled into N-Able and peek at the asset page for that...although Precision seems drool-worthy, it's says she's a T1650, with just an i3 (didn't think they ever did low end CPUs in Precisions) with 8 gigs. Just the onboard video.

Due to newness of it and whatever their deal was....may not be "discarding" that one, but having them use it for an end user. However...if it does end up with no use and option to toss, I will reach out to you.

Thanks, I just hate to see machines with life still left in them get thrown away! Sometimes I feel like I run a computer humane league :D

A great example of Moore's Law in action.
