Got a huge migration and upgrade coming up for a client that's needed upgrades for a long time. They finally got a state grant. New server to replace their SBS2003 server (yes...it's THAT old), new workstations, new laptops, all new network hardware..and it's a wide area network of 5x locations.

Anyways...got a nice NG-1000 from NexGen...an i7, 16 gigs, SSD. Also got 4x NG-50 units for the satellites..dual core Atom, 4 gigs, SSD.

Ubiquiti US-48-750 watt POE for the main office. And US-16-150 watt POE for branch offices.

Also setup small cabinets for the branch offices.

Got a nice new server host...HP Proliant DL350 Gen9, got it for a great price. Dual Xeons, 128 gigs, 6x 600 gig 10k SAS in one big RAID 10. 2016 hyper-v host, first guess will be new DC, second guest a TSGateway instance which we'll slowly wean them off of as we get them using O365 more for file hosting.

Looking forward to the project, have about 125 hours in the job. Make for a nice year ender! :)

Take a good long look folks, this is probably the last project that will ever get to use the NG-50, she's being retired after a decade of solid service. Her design is being put out to pasture, and while her replacement is more powerful, it's just nowhere near as sexy!

What type of cabinets are you using for the satellite offices?

6 x 600 RAID 10? Is a lot of their LoB stuff in the Cloud?

Yeah it's been a hosted app for a while. 75% of their current server, their old SBS03 box...is their Exchange infostore. Once that's up at O365 (and I archive all the old staff mailboxes elsewhere....prolly shove in shared folders at O365)...I think I'll have <200 gigs of files. Only other thing is Quickbooks for the 2x girls in Acct.
