some keys not responding

I had a new power jack soldered in my ZE5470us and it seemed to boot up and work fine last night.
Today I hit the start button and it began to boot then started showing all sort of software errors and dll errors. I waited a long while and it seemed unresponsive so I powred it off and hit start again. Now it will go to windows pass word box but some of my keys have stopped working so I can't log on. It is from the U button and on to the right and some of the ones above there. Also, seems the escape button does not work as I can't get it to go to setup or boot order screen. I removed the keyboard and checked the zero insertion force connection with no change.
Could this be a software problem or should I disassemble the entire unit and look for loose connections.
Any one have an idea?

Thanks for any and all help!

It could be that when the power jack was put in, they could have zorched the mboard, or did a sloppy job soldering. Or, got a PS/2 port in the back? Try an external keyboard. If the external works, then you will probably need to replace the keyboard on the laptop.

OK, went back out about an hour later and the keys that would not work did, but now the 5,6 don't??? It really seems like a bug of some sort.

sounds like some one did a crappy job sodering. If its a laptop make sure that the keyboard cable is sitting firmly in the motherboard, especially if its one of those ones that close down on top of the cable. if not they probablly messed up soddering
