Hello,

I am a hobbyist and fix a lot of computer issues for friends and family. I am pretty knowledgable and a decent trouble shooter, but by no means have the skill set of many techs. I am pursuing my A+ Certificate and decided to ease into doing computer repairs and upgrades partime for money.

My questions is regarding a "software tool kit." I know many of you have developed your own software tool kit over time. I don't really have the experience or background to know what all I need or what would be best to have. I am thinking about one of these two software tool packages listed below. These seem to be the most popular ones I can find.

pc-diagnostics.com

uxd.com

I would very much value any input one might have on these software kits or suggesstions you might have.

Thanks!

Greg

I used pcdiagnostics many years ago. I regret wasting my money on them. Their customer service was horrible and their product was average at best. Maybe they are better now, I don't know.

I contemplated uxd but decided against it mainly because of the price. I'm sure it's a great tool but for me it wasn't worth the cost. JRDTECH, who is a member here, has one I believe. You could pm him for more info.

In regards to software, browse the site and check out the tools everyone mentions. You definitely don't have to spend a fortune on your software toolkit.
