Hello everyone,

I have a client that would like some software for downloading youtube videos.

I do realize that I could google this. But I decided I'd come here
and get some personal recommendations.

I can't remember what the name of the software that allowed me to download videos was. But I didn't like the way it integrated with Firefox.
It was annoying and intrusive.

I need something that can work with Internet Explorer and or Firefox.
And of course it has to be easy to use.

Any personal recommendations from knowledgeable people? :)

hmmm I thought this forum was all about EULA's til I read this thread..

The thing I never got about youtube downloaders is with todays speeds, even on cell phones, why can't you just go to the youtube page when you want to watch the video??

Because not everybody, everywhere has those speeds, maybe? Unreliable connection? Limited bandwidth?

But you're right about the copyright issues.

Also, take a look at www.zamzar.com. Just specify the URL of the YouTube video (also supports other video-type sites) and the output format you want. The website grabs the video, converts it to the output format you want and sends you an email so you can download the result.

I use it occasionally on behalf of my church to get a YouTube video and save it as a WMV file. (The video is normally shown during a church service using a PC with no Internet access.)

Works great.
