So done with California

Your really not having a friendly conversation, I posted something and you insinuate I was breaking the law and proceeded to hijack my post because you assume you know anything and everything about traffic law.

I never asked nor cared anything about what to do in regards of the speeding ticket. The only point of my post was being fed up with how people behave here and I hate to say it your making my point.

You did break the law.

We all see where this is going, someone in California has grown tired of his living conditions, some absolute idiot decided the best response was to defame the South.
I thought we were better than this ****, we should be the elite, we should be on the forefront of technology, we should put our differences in culture and religious philo..........

I attempted to stop this **** when dumd ass #1
"Yeah, but you forgot backward laws, racism, no big cities, conservatism"

Let me tell you about backward laws... in the South we are allowed to carry weapons, here you can carry a 6 gun on your hip, the chances of being robbed are fairly slim, if you are confronted by a criminal you do not have to die without a fight.

Racism, in the South we have lived with it all of our life, we know it like the back of our hand, you can not define our situation by the media. West Coast, the dwindling population of Caucasians has caused urban sprawl all the way to NM and TX, East Coast carries on as usual, we have always been a diverse population we accept any nationality as long as you are a Southerner.

No big cities? You are slightly correct in a kinda dumb ass way, we generally don't try to stuff 4 million people into a 20 square mile piece of property, not everyone wants to live to live in an aquarium, I personally want to be able to piss off of my porch and not worry that someone may get wet. (Atlanta, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio, Miami, OKC.etc)

Ok now we get down to the real subject at hand: Conservatism, what an evil word.
Let me tell you something son, you only deserve what you work for, if you believe that people that make more money than you should pay for the people that won't work, you are sadly mistaken, I owe you nothing, I have busted my ass all of my life to get where I am at, If I found myself completely broke today, I would still be ok because I don't expect the government to take care of me. I know that despite my government I have the opportunity to succeed. If I chose to reduce myself to your level I would say liberals are the scourge of this nation and have no self respect...

AND FOR YOU

I heard that people up north don't know how to drive,(they have proven it here, our cities are full of yous guys) New York is full of child molesters, Florida is full of New Yorkers, and we all know the stupidest people on the face of the earth are from New York(except Seattle)
I don't really know how to respond to "Arkansas don't like to share" WTF

"I heard people in the south don't know how to drive, Florida is full of old people, Texans are crazy, people from Arkansas don't like to share, and nobody has a full mouth of teeth south of the Mason-Dixon line."

And for the guy that didn't actually read the entire thread and somehow got offended, WTF

Well, all I can say is that there leaves that much more IT work for the rest of us Californian Techs who do want to stay and live here.

I grew up in the state of New York and did my fair share of shoveling snow. Spend two years in the United Kingdom and have been in California since 1965.
I lived in the Bay Area, the Central Valley, the Inland Empire, and now Ventura by the Sea (ok, the Pacific Ocean). I don't want to live anywhere else.
The weather is fantastic, the roads are good, the cops are there to ticket me if they have reason to (I try not to give them a reason to), went almost 20 years without a ticket until this past Thanksgiving weekend.

Dude, I feel for you.
Moving violations can be kept off your driving record by taking a class, but the courts want extra money to allow you to take the class, you have to pay for the class, and pay to have them send the results to the court... another ripoff. But I deserved the ticket - they finally caught me! A least they haven't caught me speeding on my motorcycle yet.:D

I'm not a person that dwells on an issue I'm not perticually conserned with tickets or the CHP. (As my OP was not about that it was that I was fed up that the judge couldn' t or wouldn't look at the situation that was (and continues to develop) and put a temp. restraining order in place to protect my family and me. after having my parents house trashed, i'm being stocked and my mailbox broken into (happened yesterday, and the first time since I moved in). I view this as preventable.

What my reasons for wanting to leave CA really boils down too is the people here self-richeous, arrogant, and the all-about-me attitudes of the area. The I'm entitled and you owe me so you should take care of me.

When a senior lady has a flat tire on the side of the road and people just drive by including tow trucks and sheriffs and no one stops to help. (I did stop and change the tire to the spare for her) and view that as a negative aspect of the area, When I was in Kentucky in 2009 to take my grandfather back to be buried as I was riding with his brother we had a flat, as I change it two different times random people stopped and offered to help. Just one little thing impacts a persons view of an area and doesn't make them wrong. My main reason is with the drama and danger of an unstable ex I want a fresh start somewhere fairly far away.

But this thread started as a rant with a request for info on different places to consider relocating and was hijacked into something about traffic tickets, and each time on tried to redirect back to my original issue i as told "You did break the law." and "the judge was right to do so..." what can easily be viewed as insulting when coming from a person that doesnt know the situation or people involve.

Hello Cybjun;

I was going to comment on this thread earlier but the conversation when south (pun intended), so I skipped it. I think I know what you are going through, I just moved here to Florida from Tucson, Arizona. I got laid off from work, had to sell my house and car (Audi A4 still crying about that) and got a B.S. Ticket from the cops here. I have lived in Tucson since I started college there in 92. It just seemed things were not working out and it was time to leave.

I did some research on where I would like to go and went to each city. I currently live in the middle of a retirement community in central Florida, but that was because my parents went back to England and I get a free place to stay. It was not my first choice.

My first choice was Austin Texas. There are plenty of tech jobs there, no snow, the economy is doing much better in Texas than anywhere else in America right now. It is also one of the top 10 cities for Small businesses in the Nation. I was there for SXSW and really wanted to move there. Rent is still cheaper there than in California, New York etc. The people I meet were very friendly sometimes to a fault.

My second choice was Dallas Texas, much the same is true of Dallas as is true of Austin, but it is a larger city, sometimes call “L.A. Of the south”. I think any of the larger cites in Texas would be a good choice to move your business.

I also looked at Seattle and Bothell Washington, I prefer Bothell to Seattle. It is a medium sized city across Washington lake from Seattle. Bothell was also ranked as one of the top ten cities for Small Businesses, not Seattle though.

The runner ups were Raleigh-Durham, N.C. , Boise Idaho, Overland Park Ks.

Good Luck with what ever you decide.

MQT.

Thanks MiddleQ,

I really haven't looked at texas as a possible destination. Last time I was in Austin was in the late 90s. I'm gonna look into the Austin Area. I dont know if i'm going to move start a business or find a job. I know its hard finding a when I switch from my previous employer to my current job it was 8 months searching and that was back 2006-07. right now my only finiancial responsibilty is my car. I've been downsizing and liquidating for quite a while

Right now my list is shaping up to DC area, Charleston area, & Austin area. I dont mind some snow just don't want to live in it nearly year round.

Haha! You hit the nail on the head. No joke. The part about Arkansas was referring to them not wanting illegals coming over. By the way my original reply in this was a joke. I would actually like to move to the Carolinas someday. I hate the New York winters.

I was told here in the united kingdom police are required to calibrated the speed guns every day and have a calibration certificate. I think this link will be of interest to you www(dot)bbc(dot)co(dot)uk/insideout/southwest/series7/speed-cameras.shtml
Good luck!
