SD Card Not Recognized

I'm guessing there isn't much else that can be done. But I have a SD card that will not be recognized. SD card port is brand new. But going to make sure it's working with my drones sd card.

But things I have tried:

Windows 10 - Disk Managment - EaseUS Partition manager. Not Recoginized.

EaseUS Recovery - not recognized.

Linux - not recognized.

GParted - not recognized.

Piriform Recuva

Rstudio

Cleaned the contacts with rubbing alcohole and eraser to see if they were dirty or not. Tried all that over again, no dice. Disabled and renabled the usb sd card reader. no dice.

Tried a different windows 10 pc, Also tried my Imac station. No go.

Anything else I can try?
 
Driver installed for your card reader ? Try an SD card in your problem PC that has been recognized by another PC. Maybe you

have a bad card ?

Pretty sure its a bad card, trying to recover data from him. Thought maybe they yanked it out without ejecting it first or something. But I have tried 3 seperate computrer. Thinking it is a bad card also, but just checking if any one has any more ideas
 
SD cards are known for this issue they get stuck in an error mode.

Do you need what's your number the card or no?

I've been able to do several recoveries from SD's acting like this with R-Studio using raw files. But none of them were something someone was going to spend more than $50 on.
 
If stuck in panic mode and we have a known solution, my lab charges $500 CAD before your 20% discount to recover. Others might charge less, most charge more.

Out of curiosity does panic mode means it's not detected by BIOS? Or that it's seen but requires firmware/chip repairs to proceed. I think I've only seen a couple of SD cards that were not detected by BIOS.

I doubt they would want to pay that for 8GB, I do a $100 I don't recover you don't pay. I'm still learning so I don't mind losing out here and there. This will be my second one I couldn't get from the looks of it. Will bring it up with him though.

Does anyone know of any good books or tutorials that go into the hardware level repairs? I found one good resource on youtube, but it is his business so he don't go into too many details, don't blame him. haha

panic mode is where the controller no longer is able to communicate with the NAND.

- detects full size, but reads a repeated pattern of garbage, usually a buffer, usually asks to be initialized
- detects at a smaller capacity, ie 32GB lexar detecting as 8GB, asks to be initialized
- windows makes a sound, but nothing shows as detected
- seems absolutely dead

The costs of the tools to handle these tend to be around $2500-$3500 USD + a lot of training + adapters + a lot of time to recover. I've listed tools in the resources ages ago. If you want to invest the thousands needed, and spend the days, weeks or months to recover these cases for $100, I'd be happy to send my jobs your way.

Take note, success rates tend to be low, due to crappy NAND chips. Got a 8GB USB flash drive with more than 6GB of bad blocks.

If I had to do that much I would raise my prices. But a lot times I get lucky and I just have to slave the drive and get data, or the recovery tools get it off the top.

But feel like there is a good future in data recovery, be good to learn

Not really.. storage technologies are becoming increasingly complex. Couple that with hardware encryption (sometimes software encryption by customer on top of it, because they did not know of the built-in hardware encryption) and all sort of strange unsupported algorithms to increase the life shelf of the crappy flash storage by manufacturers and we get a huge headache. Often, those cannot be resolved, even with the $5000 tools. Add that the customer only wants to pay $100-$300 and the whole thing becomes a charade.
