Screen Testing Machine or Kit

I was curious if anyone has or has heard of any type of reliable and universal laptop screen testing machines or kits? Basically, it would be nice to know for sure if an issue is either a bad screen, inverter, back light, or the computer/graphics card itself. When I search on eBay I found this machine which is $269.99.
