I built my own computer and for some reason, I keep getting random 2 seconds black screens once per week. Kind of like turning the monitor off then back on.

This occurs on Windows 7 Ultimate running on 2 boxes that I've built.
One box has an ATI Radeon 5700 series graphics card and the other machine has an Nvidia 7800 GT card. I've upgraded all drivers for the graphics card and Windows 7. both boxes run on different monitors yet these blank/black screen occur randomly. Both boxes running on different ASUS motherboards (2 years apart in age). I was not sure if I missed a BIO settings or maybe Windows 7 settings.

I set my screen saver to 999 minutes and the computer at NEVER sleep mode. These blank/black screens occur while I am using the computer as well.

Any advice?

Hmm, that's a weird one.

Are both of the monitors the same? What type? Does using a different monitor help? Prob not.

Only reasonable thing I can think of... could it be possible you have some mirror drivers, logMeIn, or other remote software installed? Kind of sounds like your being logged onto???

no

Different monitors. I use teamviewer but it does not boot up at startup. I use it to remote to clients.

yes, it is a bought version of Win 7.

did you try uninstalling the video driver and just using the generic? I had a similiar issue with an Asus motherboard last year with Intel HD video driver I think. Spoke with Asus spoke with Intel never a resolution

generic graphics driver

Yes, I tried uninstalling the graphics driver. Using generic graphics driver and it still happens. I'll try to uninstall Teamviewer and see what happens.
