Thanks guys, I decided to save myself the worry & heartache and just swapped out the 3TB for a 2TB; it's working fine.
They have a second 2TB that gets taken off site daily by an employee. It's certainly not my ideal situation, but I've made them aware of the risks and think they will add in a different solution soon.
