I am having a time getting this SavePass Smart bar to uninstall. I got a HP Envy with Windows 8 to fix. She had tons of ad ware and one Trojan. Well several scans has gotten most of it. I Pulled the HDD out and scanned it externally with my computer with Malwarebytes and Viper that I have from GFI and Adware Cleaner. I fixed the redirects in Mozilla. So I go back to Programs and features and there are still two entries for SavePass. One entry in Programs and Features has an icon with a key (the logo for SavePass) and the next entry says SavePass and it has a icon next to it that looks like the icon next to the C++ entries in Programs and Features. I uninstall the top one with the key icon and it goes away, then I uninstall the second one and it does nothing. I close out Programs and Features and it is back. I know I should be able to do this, but it is perplexing me. Any help would be appreciated. I can't in my right mind give this machine back with this on it.

Did you remove them from the browsers?
Internet Explorer

Press Alt+T and Internet Options.
Open the General tab and change the home page. Click OK.
Press Alt+T and click Manage Add-ons.
Click Toolbars and Extensions and remove the unwanted extension.
Click Search Provider and set a new search provider.

Mozilla Firefox

Press Alt+T and click Options.
Open the General tab and change the home page.
Click OK.
Press Ctrl+Shift+A and click Extensions.
Remove SavePass Smartbar.
Close the tab.
Click the search engine icon on the left side of the search box of the browser and set a new search provider.

Yes. I have removed it from the browsers. All the browsers functioning normal now. I just can not get it to Uninstall.

Have you tried Revo Uninstaller? (I use the portable version)

Revo will invoke the pgm's defined uninstaller and then cleans out any registry entries and folder/files left behind. That will generally remove just about anything.

So it'll disappear from the list when you uninstall, but then come back when you reopen the window or refresh the view? Tried something like RevoUninstaller or GeekUninstaller?

Have you run any scans besides the offline ones? I've occasionally had different Malwarebytes results when running a scan from the client's computer as compared to running it on a pulled drive.

Have you run anything besides MBAM and AdwCleaner? JRT and Hitman Pro may also find some leftovers.

By now, there is likely no uninstaller associated with it. You've probably already done this, but do a right-click on the file and find its exact location then try to manually delete it. If that doesn't work, try to rename it then delete. I usually run MWB, SAS and CCleaner before doing removal manually and it usually does the trick. I love Revo, but have noticed it doesn't always discover all programs loaded on a computer. What is best is to run D7 because it does a great deal more than the programs listed above. (Shout out to Nick!).

Try revo uninstaller's hunter mode to point to a shortcut associated with your program, and tell it to kill and delete the process, then manually delete the folder. If you can't, then I would boot off a linux live disc/usb, delete the folder from the drive that way since linux won't care about windows permissions, then restart windows, and try to remove that program from startup/clean the registry.

+1 to this ^^^

Ok so revo got it. Most of it. I think it is mostly gone though. Thanks. It is a great program. But this is still left. As you can see smart bar is still there. But there was two now only one left.
