I've been waiting on this model to replace my aging S4. Good for Samsung for nipping this in the bud (at great expense, I'm sure), but I'll bet that adds a few weeks to the process of getting one here. Verizon was to have them available on 9/5, I guess not so much now.
"Great phone, some exploding" - I wonder how this will effect the overall sales?
I called AT&T support and the information they have is not the same as what is being published.
I have concluded that AT&Ts right-hand doesn't know what they left hand is doing and the last thing I want is to be stuck with a Galaxy S7 which I don't like.
Supposedly they were actual SAMSUNG batteries. You know, to be honest, the exploding N7 may haunt them short term, but they sell a LOT of batteries into the market for companies who actually want a quality battery that achieve or exceed their rated mAh AND safe... I bet you this recall hurts Samsung more on the battery side than their cellular side.Another example of the sketchy quality of batteries out of China. From those put in "Hoverboards" to cheap laptop batteries on Amazon and eBay, you never know what you're getting.
MANY. I repair phones too, and I see a DRASTIC thickness difference between batteries in the same model of phone (We're talking upwards of a millimeter, AND lighter) on original Apple batteries, pre-balloon.You left out the cheap batteries in Apple products. I've seen my share of balloon OEM Apple batteries.![]()
