Samsung Laptop "Performing Automatic Repair"?

Hi,

I have a Samsung Laptop that has Windows 8 on it and the customer claimed someone slammed the screen shut and form that point on, every time you power it on the Samsung logo comes up and it says "Performing Automatic Repair" and then the screen goes solid black after a few seconds.

There's no options telling me what to hit for System Recovery, Diagnostics or BIOS, but I managed to get into BIOS with a bit of "key guessing". In the boot device options, there is only 1 option for booting up: the HDD. It doesn't allow me any diagnostics and any way to boot from any external device, leterlone a CD.

I am thinking of pulling the HDD and doing diagnostics separately. Any suggestions with this? I've never come across BIOS that didn't allow any external booting.

Thanks in advance,
Matt

did you turn uefi and secure boot off? That will allow legacy boot to a flash drive or cd.
