Robust Copy

I'm sure it has happened to most of us. You get a large copy operation going and go to do something else. You come back an hour later and it barfed after copying a few files.

I've tried a LOT of programs and only xplorer2* seems to have the ability to log an error and continue (at least in the Windows world). I have licensed copies of this program as well as the portable version, but the licensing restrictions still have me searching for a different program. More and more I'm limiting my software to portable freeware - with a few exceptions.

Does anyone have a program they can recommend that can do this?

Thanks.....
Steve

*The free version does not have this feature.

That's a good idea.

I assume it would make sense to redirect the output to a file to review for errors?

rurbaniak has the right idea.

Unstoppable Copier has been a lifesaver on numerous occasions. It's freeware and is very effective. Like you mentioned, it has the ability to log the error and keep going. Great for drives that are failing :D

Teracopy is great. It won't "barf" if it stumbles across a bad file/folder AND it'll leave you a list of what didn't make it so you can show your customer waht was corrupted. Awesome tool.
