Hi everyone,

I have been away from the industry since 2008. I want to quit the job I have been at for the last 12 years. I want to get back in to the computer world and I need to get up to speed on what's new, whats changed and just a general refresher.
The local college does not have any computer or comp tech courses anymore.

What is the best way to go about it?
Is there anything good online for this?

Thanks.

What exactly are you looking at doing? Running an IT service business? If so have you made a business plan? @Your PCMD has put together a nice template to use for that purpose.

No I am not looking to start another business at the moment. I just want to remember the things I forgot over the years from being out of the industry for so long. I also want to know what has changed and get to know all the current stuff these days. I am also currently learning programming and want to combine programming skills with computer tech skills to help with future employment. I have taken and finished a computer technician course at college back in 2005. I should be able to pick it back up again quick. I am just looking for something online that is a quick to get me caught back up to speed.

Like I say I haven't done anything with computers for 12 years. The last time I worked on computers I was still using XP and Vista was starting to come around lol. Is there a good way to get back in without having to retake a course at college?
