Recurring billing methods.

I use Plusbyems.com It's like square with mobile device processing but has an optional Web portal with recurring billing for a $5/month fee. Payments are deposited in 24-48 hours.

Thanks for the tip. I looked around the plusbyems.com site and noticed that the mobile card reader looks just like the one I got from punchey.com. I setup an account some time ago when they were mentioned on here by @coffee. I've only used squareup and had punchey as a backup. Decided to go to punchey.com to see what was up with them. Lo and behold their offerings have exploded. Just a disclaimer though. I've not looked into or used their offerings nor know the pricing but they now do offer recurring billing for both CC's as well as checking accounts.

It's a separate processor.

We have a terminal through our bank for Debit and Credit card transactions for people at our office. Since Stripe doesn't charge a monthly fee, it wasn't really a big deal for us to get the terminal here.

How does this work with your terminal in the shop? You mentioned you were setup the same as us with an in shop terminal for low cost swipes and stripe for online or recurring payments right? If a customer who you've setup a recurring stripe payment with also drops off a system in the shop, can you swipe that particular sale with your in-shop terminal easily?

I meant within RepairShopr sorry. If your client is on maintenance setup within stripe and their card is in RS like you mentioned, if they drop a system off at the shop can you switch easily at the time of sale to use either stripe or your in shop terminal? Without messing up the recurring system?

Yes.

There are 2 credit card payment methods listed when you have Stripe integrated.

If the customer is physically present, we use the terminal because it's less expensive. We then choose "Offline CC" as the payment method, and it doesn't interfere with the Stripe integration or the customer's stored card.

I use QuickBooks online currently to do.. everything. They have a recurring transaction setup, works pretty well. I think once it becomes unmanageable I'll look for a CMS plugin as well.

Seems like most are around the 2.9% plus .30 cents per transaction. Only PayPal Business charges a $30 month fee for recurring payments and Authorize.net charges a $30 per month regular fee which includes recurring billing ability. Stripe seems like it offers the exact same pricing and features without any monthly fee at all, just the 2.9 + .30 cents. Am I missing some other factors here? If not, seems like a simple decision. Anybody have any horror stories, didn't get paid or other horrible things happen with Stripe? I use paypal a lot for other stuff, I just really don't want another $30 monthly payment unless I'm getting some benefit from it that Stripe doesn't have.

The benefit really is that it is easier for some people to use PayPal's processing because they already take payments through PayPal, so it's more organized.

i use WHMCS which is mostly aimed at domain renewals and web hosting but i have it setup for all my reoccurring payments.
I use it to list products on my website and sign up new users. I use it to send out invoices and reoccurring payments. This ties into Paypal payments and also bank deposit or cash. I also use it to send out automated emails after a trigger - eg 7 days after first service or 1 month after service ect

I also use this as my ticketing system which works really well and pipes all my emails from the support@ address in Office 365 into my website as a ticket.

It also ties into my Domain Registrar and a Plesk server i run so i can automatically setup domains with my registrar and also automatically setup account on Plesk server with DNS entries ect.

Lastly it intergrates with WHMCS Bridge on my Wordpress site so its all accessible from my website.

Wondered what everyone uses for recurring billing. Customers monthly payments etc. Any pros or cons to any systems you've tried. Any to stay away from?

Thanks in advance!

GoCardless. Absolutely brilliant. I also use Directli, which is an addon which works nicely with Xero and automatically charges invoices to my customers.
