Possible to virtualize Win2000 server?

An update for anyone who's interested:

We were able to get the virtual fixed by running a repair from a Win2000 ISO and same with the physical.

HOWEVER, no matter what we did, we could not RDP into the virtual and it would occasionally BSOD on us.

SO, they are working off of the physical again for the time being.

The Datto is taking hourly snapshots of it and we can browse the data, though the images do not seem to be bootable - at least the data is protected.

We got in touch with the software maker (yes, should have done that before) and we can install this on any x86 server OS - so it should run fine on 2008.

The plan is to spin up a fresh 2008 virtual, load the software there, migrate data, and do a PROPER install of this legacy software which means a traditional client/server setup, not having 15+ people RDP into it like they do with the 2000 box.

It was a stressful weekend, but other than the issue with the 2000 box, the install went well.

Thank you all for your help on this.

Interesting.....well, old old server...who knows what's underneath all those layers. Unknown history sometimes leads to squirrely issues.

Just deployed another Datto and got her running. We did 3x Altos sales a few months ago and won the Google Nexus tablet...it just arrived yesterday.
