Poll: WORST email clients

I have always used Thunderbird for email. I have worked on Outlook but find its too cluttered with options and such to be of good use. However, As others have stated, I am sure its a good email client.

I have setup Thunderbird for offices because its easy to configure and backup. For those that do not realize it, Here are two really helpful items when working with Thunderbird:

1. In tools, Select add ons and do a search for 'fonts'. You will find 'Theme font and size changer'. This is very helpful in changing the looks of thunderbird.

2. This program (if your not using fabs) will backup all your settings in Thunderbird including email to migrate it to another computer or for reinstall. Here is the link --> http://mozbackup.jasnapaka.com/

If your running linux then backing up thunderbird is as easy as tarring up the /home/~/ .Thunderbird directory.


Ive never used that 'Incredimail' good thing I havent judging from the comments here.

That's a good program, have used that before with pretty good success.

And I agree, I'm glad I haven't messed with Incredimail/fail and my clients seem not to have heard of it--sounds like a nightmare.

I bet Outlook is only used 1% for exchange
There's no way my Incredifail customers are ever going to change so I have to live with it
I would never do an import just replace identity folder with old mail

I've also voted for Outlook as being the worst. Mainly for the problems with PST's. I do agree that have a proper underlying hardware and software helps a lot. But in the end computers have problems, either user induced or otherwise. Being that a PST is just a large proprietary database file it is subject to the same problems that all monolithic, proprietary database files have. I did notice that in Outlook 2011, OS X version, it's more like mbox format but still not very friendly.

Never seen Incredimail, but I got a laugh out of the Incredifail.

My preference is for mbox based clients. No monolithic, proprietary database files. All emails are text editor readable so they can be searched. The attachments are, last time I looked, base64 so you can extract that portion for decoding if things are really bad.

I would personally go for Mac Mail or Outlook on mac, never been a fan!

Outlook express is easy to use and work with until you get Large DBX files.

Like most people say they all have good and very bad points

I very much agree about Outlook for Mac, but what problems do you have with the Mac Mail.app?
I switch my corporate Exchange users off Outlook to Mail, Contacts, and Calendar, and they are infinitely happier.
