Pity thy're still so expensive..

What are your costings for the 1Tb Crucial drives Greg?

I normally purchase 240Gb's, they are really coming down in cost compared to 3rd qtr last year.

I believe Western Digital bought out Sandisk, and their WD Blue 3D SSDs (which I believe are Sandisk progeny) are my second choice after Samsung, although I have read reviews indicating they do not provide the best performance. IIRC, @YeOldeStonecat also uses them as one of his preferred choices.

Thanks all. Good to know. Sometimes, when things look like a real steal, you find out too late there's a reason for that...

Anyone here using Sandisk SSDs? I've seen them (not 1TB, though) at very cheap prices on ebuyer.

I've installed several for customers. I also installed one (a 240GB) in my personal MacBook Pro (17-inch, Early 2009) about 5 years ago, and it lasted until December 2017, when a sector went bad (according to Disk Warrior 5).

I use mostly Crucial now, but wouldn't hesitate to use Kingston again.
The only one's I'll never touch again are OCZ (Toshiba)!

Yeah they're one of the 3 brands we'll get, Crucial is first, also get Samsungs. Although I run far away from WD Blue "spinner" drives, their Blue SSD are a relabeled top of the line Sandisk model so they're good!

These Crucial 1TBs are finally making large SSDs that still have good features quite affordable now. Love it!
