Password managers

Hi, everyone,

I'm looking for a free, portable (flash drive) password manager. I've been using RoboForm2Go, but it's only free for the first 10 passwords, and things are so tight that even the $30 registration fee stings. I'd like one that imports PWs from browsers - I really like that feature of Roboform - and is generally simple to use. I'd appreciate any recommendations.

Thanks!

I've been working with the LastPass recently and it really seems good. It comes in both a portable and installable version.

I use KeyPass it is freeware, packed features, and meets my needs for not only passwords but other customer info such as router passwords, passphrases, computer brand, model, coa, service tag etc. They have both a windows version as well as a portable version...very useful to me.

Hmmm, LastPass looks pretty good, but those comments about KeePass make it sound very useful. I've actually had it on my flash drive for a while from Portableapps.com, but it didn't seem quite as user-friendly (meaning: easy to set up and import stuff) as Roboform, but I may need to take another look.

Thanks for the suggestions, all!

I've been using Bruce Schneier's Password Safe for a few years now, and I use it daily. Intuitive, user friendly, and you can select different levels of encryption. It has a customizable "Autotype" feature that's pretty handy. Basically, just double click on the password safe entry, and it will automatically fill in the user id and password of the webapp or app. Plus, given Bruce's background, it's pretty safe to say that this app is pretty well encrypted. Since I run this app on a couple of different computers (ie. home and work systems), the ability to compare/merge the password files is essential.

Just do a google search for Bruce Schneier password safe, and you'll be directed to his site.

Thanks for info, looks not bad. I'll probably will switch from roboform to this one. UI looks more friendly and it is FREE.

I set up KeePass today - do you guys just set up a separate password entry for each of your clients, and use the Notes section for their hardware and password data, or is there a tool I missed?

Thanks,

Sky

I set up mine with groups and subgroups, example would be group "Customers", Subgroup "Router" here I'll have router name, login, pass phrase, web address, ssid etc. Then I'll have another Subgroup "Computers" with all computer info with entries by customer and computer name and so on. KeyPass isn't really designed for this type of info but there are plenty of places to enter this type of info, it's encrypted, and with you when your at your customers place. ;)
