Outlook navigation pane folders

Hi Folks
I managed to mess up my navigation pane view which now displays folders instead of simply the names of the folder as in the pic.
Really annoying.
I've tried all I could to revert that with no result.
Would be really grateful for some insight please.

You don't show the bottom of your folder navigation pane, and I suspect you're using Outlook 365, but does something similar to this appear there?:

If so, one gets those folders to appear by clicking the triple dot button and choosing the Folders option. I get them to go into hiding again by clicking the mail button shown in blue in the partial screenshot above.

I thought I had clicked on the mail icon afterwards but maybe not.
Don't know but it worked.
Yes I'm using O365 indeed.
