Outlook 2007 search, Windows 7

It was working for the inbox but did not work for Archived folder
I Googled and did a bunch of things like rebuild index and now search does not work for inbox
when I tried it kept saying indexing so waited and 3 days later the search is still not working

There were some permission problems so I created a new user and transferred his data over
wished I had done a nuke but everything was OK in new user login

Looks like I should run scanpst to fix any errors I think it was a big file and when it's been copied to a backup drive and copied back
it sometimes corrupts the file.

Last time I had this problem it was on my own computer and I tried everything to fix search in outlook 2007
I finally fixed it by installing outlook 2013
it's not so convenient now as he has taken the laptop and he lives where I don't go

Can't say about Windoze but I've had search issues with Outlook within the OS X environment. Nuke and pave ended up being the only solution. But in my case I was not able to upgrade the clients.
