Hi. I got into very fustrating proplem who I cant figure out why, what caused with Microsoft Office 2010 Plus from customer and does not matter if that is word, excel or outlook. Menu list, toolbar and everything got like in Office 2000 or XP or just like old menu and toolbar , See picture „proplem“ in attachment and in pic name „normal“ is from me like they should look like.
I have done:
Uninstall and Install again,
look for third party software(nothing)
repair Office 2010,
Google for solutions(nothing)

You will have something similar when your visual effect are set to best performance, but not that different, something else happen, can you try to adjust the performance setting of Windows to "adjust to best appearance"

The major difference between the two graphics file is the grapics quality. Is it possible that the desktop is set for something like 640 x 480? Or the app is being started in 256 color mode?

HTH,

Tom M.

ya you get it, it's the compatibility property of Word who set to 256 colors, I just test it... right click the word icon > properties > Compatibility > un check the everything you see in setting

Hi again.

Sorry I did check but did not said that in my thread.

1) I have also: visual Efftect and its on "Let Windows Choos what´s best for my computer"
2 ) I have check: Compatibility mode, its already that should be. No indicate about xp or older OEM.
3) I have check display: its on 1440x900 true color 32(bit)
4) Other software is just fine except Office 2010, I have install this on several computers and nothing like this came up.
5 ) this is not only word, its all, Excel, Outlook, all pack.

Hows the rest of the desktop look? I'm guessing this is a Vista or 7 Machine (because you didn't state, just office "looks" like XP/2000). This looks very much like you have Aero turned off. might look to that...

Is a IBM Dell Latitude 5400, with Win 7 VL, computer is on domain,
pc-quebec: yes, I am sure its uncheck with 256 colors, I even let my 2 co-workers look at the Computer with and tell them what I have done, they did their ideas and check also from, its one idea I came a across when I am sitting here at my home thinking about this proplem, I log into my account in this computer(domain), I see same proplem that other account, If for example someone have change in Compatibility mode in local user or third account, should I not see that changes when I right click in icon and goto combaility mode or change back, an choose for all users, when I go into my account?

Hi,
Maybe there is something wrong with the office pack color set. What happens if you open word, open the word options on general tab and change the color set to another one?

fabs: Nothing change if I change color set in Word>option>general.
today have I uninstall video driver(nothing) update video driver(nothing) I am totally out of option here except backup, format and install all again. its very huge action for "minor" problem when nothing else is wrong.
