Man, I'm losing money because I don't know Mac's. Any suggestions? I figure to buy a mac book and just learn it. But I don't know what would be the best buy, how old can I go to learn what I need to learn. Right now I'm doing tune-ups and residential work. So I don't think I have to be an expert right now just able to service to home user.

search"how to... on a mac" on what you think the main jobs are loads of youtube videos and sites dedicated. and software too

One of the main questions I have is what mac to buy that will be good to learn on. They can be pretty expensive.

Mini's are OK to learn on, but you will see many more MacBook Pros than anything else, so I would find a decent 2011 13 inch for close to the price you would pay for a new Mini.

And the best way to learn about Macs is to use one. Same way you learned about Windows. When I saw what a big opportunity there was in my area working on Macs, I got one and used it exclusively for at least 6 months. I learned to speak Mac with my clients, I knew all the keyboard shortcuts and the little tricks to use it better For a lot of Mac people, it's a bigger deal than you think. I have had more than one customer tell me that they didn't feel comfortable with a tech that used Windows instead of a Mac.

Funny thing is I still use Windows at home more than my Macs.

A bought a 2012 mac mini and forced myself to use that at home instead of my main windows pc and also learned how to upgrade the ram to 8gb and the hard drive to an ssd plus upgrading the OS.

I didn't take any specific courses to learn, just using it everyday for a few months and lots of searching youtube and google is how I did it.
