[SOLVED] Mysterious OpenWRT Google/Firefox Problem

I've got a somewhat amusing issue.

I installed OpenWRT (Openwrt Chaos Calmer 15.05-rc3) on my Linksys WRT1900ac V1, and I have been enjoying experimenting with its added capabilities.

Ever since the install, I have been unable to use www.google.com or any of the search features from Firefox (41.0.2) on Windows 10. I can still access and use all of my Google Apps for Business including Gmail, Google calendar, etc.

When I attempt to go to www.google.com, I get the error message "Can't Establish Secure Connection" "The connection was interrupted as the page was loading" What makes it a little more odd is that I can still access www.google.com from Chrome and Edge. I can also access it from other devices and computers on the network. The computer that's having the issue is the only computer connected to the network via cable though. Even more odd is that sometimes it works perfectly fine. I'm using OpenDNS as well.

I have tried clearing the cookies, cache, etc, power cycling the whole network, restarting my computer, starting Firefox in its Safe Mode, reinstalling Firefox, checking the proxy settings (Use System Settings. There is no proxy set up), and probably some other things that I can't remember.

Last night I restored it back to the default firmware :)() and it worked fine. I flashed it back to the OpenWRT and it has that currently.

I'm all out of ideas. I've literally done everything I know to do..except for Googling it, of course. :D

Thanks in advance for any help!

Can you access google sites via IP address only?

Try messing with IPv6 settings. I'd first try FF specific settings first:

About:Config > network.dns.disableIPv6 > toggle to true

If that doesn't work try disabling IPv6 in the router firmware. I don't recommend leaving it disabled, but at least you'll know.

I forgot to update this post earlier this afternoon!

I did try toggling that setting to true previously and it didn't have any impact on the issue.

You're right about the IPv6 playing a part in it though. I posted my problem on the OpenWRT forum as well. One of the Devs replied back and advised me to clear the IPv6 ULA-Prefix that was assigned when I set up the firmware.
That solved the issue. I asked him if he had any resources on the problem that I could read up on. He did not. He mentioned that he had just seen some IRC chatter about IPv6 interference with Windows 10.

Thanks for the reply!
