My new flyer

"General computer crankiness" hehehe i like that i wanna steal (joking) may sound silly but to me it gives that little quirkiness that a brand like BUILTBYMOM screams out

i like the fliers nice, clean and straight to the point. having said that i think the clipart looks out of place.

dont know what it is maybe it just i never been a fan of clipart always makes me think that it been put together in some teenagers bedroom.

ps not sure if just me but i cant get your FB page to load.

pps on another side note: dewcided to sent as pm.

Does your computer give you sh*t?
Did it eat your fresh-baked files, and not do the dishes afterwards?
Is your computer F.U.B.A.R.?
Does your mother-board need a mother's love?

Just a few fun suggestions of the top of my head. Thought it would be worth posting for amusement purposes if nothing else.

I have no issue with the text or the layout.

1, The thing I wonder about is the illustration.

Im not sure why but there's kind of a theme in pc repair ads to depict end users as 'befuddled'. In this instance there's an image of a guy looking pretty foolish, in accordance with thinking along the lines that people must need our services because they are technically inept. (or something like that)

I guess the successfulness of your flier, then, will be about whether your target market identifies with this image.

2, Fliers are notoriously difficult things to get a decent return on. While I can see the reasoning behind "this is what we do... phone us", I think that a more successful strategy would be to dangle a golden carrot and make that the impetus for the phone call.

You're saying, "we do this, phone us" (inference: sometime, whenever, if you need it)

Im saying you might want to consider "if you phone us NOW you get THIS" (inference: if you wait you will miss out).

"THIS" being something that will motivate them to pick up and phone YOU, NOW, rather than do nothing; wait till there's a computer problem, and then go the route of their existing repair service.

3. The thing I am missing on your flier is your logo. Its a very powerful image, and I think it says a lot about your service in-and-of-itself. Also making the connection between your business and the ad (brand recognition) is an important aspect of building consumer knowledge about you. Basically the more exposure people get to your brand, the more likely they are to use you . At the moment there's nothing on the flier achieving that task.

Just my 5c

perfect explanation Jim could not have said it better myself!

One thing about fliers is that majority of the people receiving it won’t require your service at that time, but they will in the future. The trick is, what can you do so that it gets filed and not toss away. Studies show that putting a discount / coupon or attractive images has a better chance of succeeding.

if you decided the later route, then pls post the revision asap :D Just joking

Looks much better.

Still missing an incentive.

Think about it this way: You get a flier from a plumber. It says, "we fix taps, drains, gas systems, hot and cold water".

What makes you KEEP the filer and phone THEM next time you need a plumber, instead of just saying "I already have a plumber" or "I dont need a plumber right now" and putting it in the bin?

- is it the voucher at the bottom that says you save $50 by using them?

- or does it say they will do something for free?

- or does it say you get $45 worth of free petrol vouchers if you use them?

- or...(fill in the dots)

because without a perceived benefit, no incentive. No incentive, no phone call. No phone call, no $$$$$

Thanks for all the input. My printer will kill me if I submit another change, but I will try to do something like that next time. I appreciate all the thoughts and ideas.

OMG I love it.. awesome.. Hope you advertise in local papers that deal with parents.. There is a paper where I used to live that was called "Parents".. Seeing an ad like that would give you tons of new clients :)
