After going through and getting everything infecting a customer's machine out, there's a little something that was left behind. The Documents folder in the start menu got renamed to something with nothing but junk characters. However, the link is still working and takes you straight to the documents folder.

Any fixes? All the malware is off but it just left this behind...

Stubborn customer, brought to me in-shop from an onsite tech... I'm talking to deaf ears basically. I never leave it on if I have an option. The thing came to me with McAfee, Norton, and that UniBlue grayware all simultaneously installed...

Again, I have zero contact with the customer since I'm strictly in-shop and can't leave, so I am not at liberty to remove too much stuff. I could call and go over stuff with them, but it's not quite feasible when I run a full bench with 15 systems by myself. I WANT TO. Trust me. Truth be told, I wish I could reload every system I touch since I mostly deal with junk-infested college kid laptops around here. :D

Right Click -> Rename.

My fix would work too... it's just...more flashy....:cool:

At least with your fix if it was done in front of the customer it would look like they are getting there moneys worth.

We should make a list of quick easy fixes and complicated looking solutions for them.

We'll be like the bottle flippers of the computer repair industry!
