Hey guys - produced this video for a facebook group but I know it will be just as useful here also.

My experience is ranking a computer repair website, a cell phone repair site and now an managed services website.

Here's the first of 4 on how to beat your competitors within 30 days:

Resources mentioned in this video:

Whitespark (local citation finder): http://www.whitespark.ca
50 major US business directories: Hubspot Blog
280 UK directories: here

Hi there!
Awesome videos! saw your first one 2 days ago and signed up straight away for the second one! They have come out in perfect timing for me as I am concentrating on my local SEO for my business here in Australia have only had my website and everything up for about 3 weeks so I'm hoping with these tactics I can shoot my way to the top in a reasonable amount of time. I have a question, hoping you can help me with though?

if I have a long tail keyword say for example... 'Who can remove computer virus in Mytown"

And I write a blog post " 3 easy ways to combat computer viruses today" or something like that..

In the blog content should I be mentioning my local town/area name? or does it not need to be there becuase the town/area is mentioned through the other pages in my site?
I noticed on your blog post about ransomware you had Aberdeen as a tag. - how does this come in to play?

Can't wait for the next two videos! Thanks again for the great help in these vids.

Cheers.

Hi Dan - I would suggest at least one mention of your location in the blog content itself. Google can rank pages with no mention of location however it will help assist ranking the page. Let me know how you get on.

Basic info about what a server is and can do
Intro into remote desktop services
What makes a good backup solution

IT Strategy

Benefits of Pro active monitoring
Antivirus, what works best
Overview of malwarebytes
IT security basics

Mobile device management

Leased Lines
Skype for business
Hosted VOIP
Business Internet - what are the differences
Web filtering - how to protect your staff
Meraki speed restriction

Have about 40 total - just another 325 epic posts to come up with. Leave your list below :D

I had a list of about 30 UK directories and thought I was doing well. I have been using hubspots free backlink checker to see where my competitors are getting links from. As it is free I can only do so many a day but I then build up a list of places to check out and see where I can try and get links from.

I like your videos just not sure if you would consider me local competition for your final video.

Is it still important in the page title of the blog article ?
Thanks.

Thanks Goldmercury! I have started drafting up a few ideas for blog posts over the next 12 months. Going to do my best to get one up everyday! Will keep you posted, looking forward to seeing your next video , cheers

"Instant sales" - well almost. In this video I go over one of Google's newest advertising features which is working very well within some industries.
Another great video mate!
Looking forward to the results next week. Actually haven't used Adwords myself, have always been put off a little by the poor ROI experiences I have heard of, but some of the tips you give here make a lot of sense and make it seem like the a good ROI is possible with the right ad setup.

Can't wait for this last video! - I have so far done as you suggested with the Map Pack and have also started fleshing out some blog post ideas (trying to build up a bit of a 'blog bank' around 15 or so, to get me started, that way I know I have 15 days of blogs done and I can use the 15 days to come up with some more.) - Just the way i'm going to approach it.

Also, though I would share the way I have been fleshing out my blog ideas....
First thing I did, which has helped me ALOT is to download the free wordpress app from the App store - Logged in to my site on the app.

And now I just open it up whenever I have a blog idea, litterally takes 5 seconds to open it up and start a new post. All I have been doing is putting in the title and a few notes or take a photo with my phone. Then just save it as a draft.

Then when I get home from a day out on the job, I can fire up my desktop, login to my wordpress site and I can see my ideas from the day. I find it easier to work with posts on the desktop rather than my mobile device. Nothing stopping you from completing and publishing the post from your phone though, obviously.

Anyway - that's just the way I have found it easy to jot down ideas without worrying about pens and paper or copying it over from somewhere else.

Cheers.

Great idea Dan I will have to give this a try. Used the wordpress app a few years ago will give it another look.

Just an update on these 4 videos the final video will be released tomorrow however it will be private (see previous videos as to why).

The ad-words campaign (click to call) was an interesting experiment....

So, Iam sitting here on a slow day going thru my emails and deleting all the SEO offers from companies that tell me they can do all these wonderful things for my website in the area of SEO. One of the things they always tell me is that they can generate reviews for me. I did have one of these places call me and actually tell me they would generate a bunch of fake reviews on my site for me. I just hung up the phone. My reviews are real. So, Then I head on over to 'nibbles and what do I find??? This excellent thread in the 'new posts. Im hooked!

Thank you very much. I am just sitting down to start watching them now. However, Your voice is too low on my system. Hard to hear you a bit. So, If you dont mind, I downloaded them from UT and ran them thru kdenlive to add gain to the sound. :)

I am also working on a new website to replace my painfully inept one. So, This will work perfectly and has given me some enthusiasm for finishing off the site and getting it going. I really *uck at SEO and I guess its time I get this website straightened out :)

Thank you,
