^ This! We don't use QB online, we use the normal QB's. We use Quick books GoPayment to accept CC's on site. We also use GoPayment to send a receipt for all invoices.

We had mobile readers that plugged into our phones. $10 per month or something like that added to our main merchant account. Only used them a few times so we got rid of them and added authorize.net for web processing which we can use onsite. For most stuff we usually just call the shop and the receptionist will run the transaction on a terminal there. The mobile dongle's were kind of cool but we just didn't wind up using them for whatever reason. If I remember correctly the app used with the dongle was called First Data Mobile App.
Hmmm..... Flint just went belly-up two days ago with no notice. Had a client call wondering if she was making a mistake trying to pay an invoice of mine online and it wouldn't take her credit card. Pfft.....
Flint had excellent rates and service but I guess just couldn't muster the masses against the likes of Square to make a go of it with the razor thin margins. I've just switched over to "GoPayment" from QuickBooks since I use QuickBooks online. Her invoice went right through and was paid - heh....

Didn't you get an email? Flint is changing their platform. this whole month they've been down. They partnered with "Stripe" I thought it was kinda shitty we couldn't use their service during their upgrade.
I did some digging and yes an email came through. (My bad...) Wish they would have been a bit more explicit than just saying there is a "hold". I must have just read past it when mobile.

Yeah I was a little upset I couldn't use them, but I do like them. How was the QuickBooks experience? Do u like them better?
Signup/activation for GoPayment was quick and easy although I'm a QuickBooks online user already. My first invoice went out minutes later (as above - heh). Now the sales come in as a sale into QuickBooks instead of a bank "transaction" to be coded into sales. Inventory items can be detailed with full SKUs, extended descriptions, classifications, etc. (if desired). The mobile app looks very comparable and seems to allow invoicing without inventory items having to be used. They are sending a reader although credit card transactions can always be done by hand (at a different rate? - "card not present"?). So far though looks good.
At this point, the big players (PayPal, Square, etc.) all play the game about the same so this fits nicely with my online QuickBooks.

I was pretty much aware of all that but it's a good discussion for others to get the balanced picture. Credit card acceptance is something I have to offer as a service to clients/customers and it is only an incidental part of total sales. If I have to carry an extra percent or so on those few sales it is well worth the convenience and brand familiarity for my customers for me to use QuickBooks. I tried going for the best deal by using Flint but that didn't work out too well - heh. (I've had a few customers scratch their heads... Flint?)
