Had a client call today and he told me that all of his yahoo mail contacts are missing. I decided to remote in and check it out.
His PC was running Windows 7 with all updates. After I connected to his computer, I asked him to show me what he was talking about.
He opened up Chrome and signed into his yahoo mail. After that, he opened his contacts. There weren't any. He told me that he had over 200 and they just went away a couple of days ago. I also couldn't retrieve any from the Deleted Contacts folder and the "Actions" option wasn't working.
I noticed that he also had Firefox installed so I opened it up and told him to sign into his email. He looked at his contacts and THERE THEY WERE. I asked if he would mind using Firefox and he said he didn't like it.
I was at a loss about what to do next. I decided to run CCleaner to clear out the temp files. Here's where it gets weird, after running CCleaner all of his contacts magically reappeared in Chrome. I made a quick local backup of his contacts just to be safe.
Anyway, hope this helps if you run into the same issue.
