A new update labelled "Microsoft Corporation Driver Update (10.0.26100.6700)" came up yesterday on a customer's AIO. First time I've seen it but I read an article last month saying something about updates that are only labeled as Microsoft Update with no description. I looked it up but couldn't find any info on it.

My customer's AIO had a Trojan in it so I wasn't sure if it was a fake update generated by the Trojan or truly from Microsoft. Anyone know what this update might be?

Right now it appears that everyone is suspicious of this one, though I anticipate Microsoft explaining it:
Thanks for the link. I appreciate it. In the Update History, it shows as KB5070311, translating to (26200.7309), which I DID find online with NO mention of 26100.6700.

Nothing like confusing people, right? Typical Microsoft. But at least now I can look it up and I know a Trojan didn't put it on there.

You're quite welcome.

I'd also be force updating to 25H2 if that machine is still on 24H2, since 25H2 has gone to broad general release and should have been "in on all machines" by now.

I just checked my own machine, 25H2 Pro, under the Optional Updates in Windows Update and zero are available, so I presume whatever this is was applied as part of "the usual updates" at some point during the updates to 25H2.

This one's already on 25H2. I check every PC that comes in with Windows 11. Another PC this morning came in with an update labelled HP Driver Update and, once again, no more information than that. :rolleyes:

@ThatPlace928

I've seen a number of driver updates bearing little in the way of description, but I presume if they are being delivered through Windows Update that they have been vetted, in some way, by Microsoft even if that's limited to having been sourced from the company stated. One of the goals of Windows Update was to make it "Update Central" for all manner of updates: BIOS/UEFI, drivers, OS, etc. It seems that at least some device manufacturers have begun to supply updates to Microsoft for distribution by Windows Update.

Here's a screenshot from my own machine of the list of driver updates going back to 2024:
