[WARNING] Microsoft unexpectedly starts pushing Win10 version 1803 through Windows Update

I just setup a refurb unit today and it was in there after I manually checked for updates...took a long time to do to. Seems to run ok once completed on a dell opti 980.

Did 2 for the heck of it that way. No issues. :);)
Our client that had this issue reported that his computer was running really slowly yesterday and wanted us to check it out. I connected and went to check if updates had installed and sure enough staring me in the face, v1803 initializing. It did install perfectly fine and the computer is back to normal now.

Most of us were expecting the big push to 1803 to start May 8, but many Win10 1709 users are getting upgraded now. The only trigger? They clicked on Check for Updates.
Not read the article yet but the difference I am seeing is whether you are in the targeted channel or not. I upgraded both of my Win 10 systems over WU when I switched to Targeted. I have the ISO but wanted to see the WU in action. There are always issues with it.

Has anybody noticed if the media creation tool is updated to it too?

Yes it is. I updated my USB with it last night with no issues.

I also did the 1803 Update on my personal laptop and wife's laptop last night through Windows Update and had no issues.

The MCT is always updated when the ISO is released.
But you really need to be using the Windows ISO Downloader. No need to grab a new MCT every time when you can have ONE tool for every current ISO out that is updated automatically because it browses the Microsoft FTP servers.

Until it doesn't and it fails for no apparent reason.
Like any tool we use you need to keep it updated but I'd rather mess with ONE tool that can download multiple ISO from all the current versions of Windows AND Office rather than the constant confusion of maintaining all those separate and hard to tell apart MCTs. Can't speak for you but I try and find tools and routines that make my life easier.

Of course, and so do I...:)
...so I too use the Windows ISO Downloader, but as I said for inexplicable reasons, like today, it fails to do anything.
I always get the latest version before downloading any iso's. Current version is Version 6.0.4.0 - 04.05.18 11.28pm

When it fails I just copy the download link to my browser and it "usually" downloads.
But I've had failures doing it this way as well.

Probably my - in political speak - "just what Australia needs - high speed state of the art internet" - and in reality - crap internet connection! ;)

Just downloaded Office 2013 Pro iso. Seems to be working ok now...:)

Edit:
Someone posted a link to download official versions of MS products from a single website.
Does anyone remember what that website was?
