Hi Technibblers.
This is the first post for me,
I was wondering what everyone else does regarding Microsoft 365 backups.
Some people see this as a backup and others strongly believe you need to back up your One Drive, Sharepoint, etc separately.
We are migrating, as you all are!! many of our customers over to Microsoft 365 and I'm still not clear on whether this needs an additional backup or not.
I am just concerned if one of our customers got some Ransomware and it replicated onto their cloud services. I know you can put retention policies in place and go to a previous version of a file, but what if you needed to restore many folders and files. I'm just curious what everyone else's mindset is regarding this

The built in tools are usually good enough to handle an emergency roll back for a crypto attack... BUT they aren't terribly easy to use.

Also, no matter what retention you set if contacts are destroyed, they're gone forever.

Which is why I continue to Datto all the things.

In the past, since we've been nearly forever Datto partners, we used their SaaS (BackupIfy) for some.
And then I tried DropSuite (via PAX8)...and oh boy do I like it better. Nearly same cost. So I'm using that for new setups.
