Does anyone here have a digital microscope?

Being that the eyes aren't what they used to be, I've had a yearning for a digital microscope that could help for doing soldering etc on the bench.
However, the cheap ones have really low resolution and framerate and the good ones are far too expensive to justify purchase.

I found this today and it seems like it might be just the thing at a price that isn't too bad: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/14MP-HDMI...quipment_Lab_Equipment_ET&hash=item48772b26b5

Realise it's in Hong Kong but I could not find it here in the UK.

That model comes highly recommended as an inspection microscope by a friend who bought one. There are some reviews with sample pictures of it and some alternatives on a Polish forum. I just returned a microscope last week because the USB camera didn't work, there were dings in the "binoculars" caused during shipping, and I was getting nowhere in resolving the camera problem. Plus, the lowest magnification (20x) was too high for use as an inspection microscope. Unfortunately, the microscope market in North America seems to be dominated by AmScope and its affiliates, so it looks like I may have to try my luck again but on the model cited by MicahelBits.

really wanted something I can output to a screen.

To me, that seems overkill for the stuff we're working on. I have a TV tech friend with very bad eyes and he does a lot of intricate work with a desk magnifier or one of those ones that you wear on your head, which is the type that I like to use. I think it does 2x & 4 x mag.

Then again, if you have the money to spare and you want a new toy to play with, I suggest you buy the screen display thing! :p

I'd suggest seeing if you can try one first. Without binocular vision, spacial perception (rather, lack of) becomes very frustrating.
