Hello all,
Any mHelpdesk users want to share ideas, tips etc on how they have mHelpdesk setup? Videos, screenshots would be helpful also. We have ours customized for us but wondered how others are doing it for their business. Seems like we all get some new ideas with this kind of sharing and collaboration.

Hey Moon, I can let you remote into my system and I can give you a tour of my setup. Now...I have slimmed down my mhelpdesk since it's just me now and not a team. In fact, I have mine down to the simple of the simple, so many I'm not a good one LOL.

Hey guys -glad to see the community working together. Would you guys be interested in joining a webinar hosted by us? We can go over the basics of Mhelpdesk and also focus on some features that really help the IT business. We can also use the Webinar as a q&a session and also get some feedback.

Anyone interested? If so I can setup a registration form. It will be open to both customers and non-customers thinking about using Mhelpdesk. Thanks!

Vincent

webinar

I would also like to see a webinar. I know Vincent is a busy guy and I bug him with questions from now and then (which he has always called back and answered personally by the way), but doing a Q & A style webinar would be great! Especially if actual MHD users attended and could share ideas too!

mhelpdesk video

I posted a quick video on how we use mhelpdesk. Please chime in if you see something we are doing that could be done better, smarter or faster.
We have been trying it out for a few months now comparing it to our current software. The one thing we like is that it would take care of invoicing also similar to freshbooks. Right now we use 3 diff systems lol. We would still need Quickbooks for the back end accounting but this would at least replace the other 2.

Terry,

Nice video. Few things that I do different is create items for each type of labor....example:

Labor-Inshop
Labor-Onsite
Labor-Remote

Then we also use time log feature and put all of our work performed (customer safe type notes----not our actual processes or procedures. It also dates it and can note each technician so that when you invoice I automatically create Service Types that match the above Labor types. So what I saw in your video you just used "Complete" as your labor item.....

So basically using time logs also simplifies the process of logging time for each of the technicians but also gets them into the habit of recording their notes for each time log as well. This would solve your issue with not having to copy/paste the notes as it could automatically do this for you. (Right now it is just myself but my wife is going to start helping out with the business and do plan on hiring in the near future)

I would be able to show you how I do it if you would like wether in a google hangout or one-on-one.

I would be interested in seeing this. Your split-types of labor alone was a good tip.

I'll shoot you an email tomorrow as I don't understand the split labor thing too well lol.
We do have many diff labor charges. All diff. Such as
Remote support, complete service, rebuild with data, rebuild without data, quick fix, on site, etc. we have a bunch of them. We're you talking about a diff area?
Also lets try to get a google hangout going. Maybe we can all pick a convenient day/time. Would be helpful.
