Me too!

Looks like you need to get your priorities straight ;)

You're really excited to see what I got going- I can tell because you been asking about it a lot.

So to make you happy- here is a taste.

As you can see it's not a simple "plain html" site- lots of features going into it- it's VERY hard to get rid of all the bugs. Here is a list of some of the problems I have encountered so far...

  • The logo uses alpha transparancy which IE6 and under does not support- FIXED
  • The "Site Features" or "Top Navigation" area where Nerd/Moe's Blog, Order Status, Bill Pay and Contact will be located experiences some "jumping" issues in Firefox 2 and Opera. - FIXED
  • The dropdown navigation doesn't work in IE6 and under. - BROKEN
  • The search area doesn't properly lineup in Firefox 2 and 3. BROKEN
  • The ajaxified "news reel" doesn't work in any browser except Firefox. BROKEN

Then there are security issues with the "Order Status" where a user enters their email address and a tracking number. It's easily exploitable to entering the admin email address and no tracking number to list EVERY order. By adding a "requirement" to enter a tracking number the malicious user will have to enter a tracking number- but all he needs is the admin email. I need to do some PHP ninja'ing here.

The Blog, Bill Pay and Contact pages are working perfectly though.

If I ever go into business for myself I may get you to build me a site Jospeh. I work in the corporate world on the IT staff for a trucking transportation company.

That is easily one of the sexiest websites I have seen. I cannot wait to see a final product, keep up the work Joesph.

Thanks a lot- I try to do my best, but pixel for pixel it will be pretty hard. I'm just trying to get it to work right now then I'm going to go for pixel-perfect graphics ;)

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeet!

Thaaaaaaaaaaaaanks. :)

Sure! If you were a customer I would actually have a better initiative to finish it much faster. However, please keep in mind I won't do any custom PHP coding in any case simply because I'm not good enough and I don't want the responsibility of having to debug it or risk my employers business. I will do some basic integration though.

Hey JosephLeo,

You must have fantastic time management, though - To get to over 1,000 posts in 2 months, work on your website and be a full time business owner. I could never all of these and have a life away from a computer...

Don't forget I'm a full time son, brother, cousin, nephew, grandson and friend as well! I make sure my family has attention as well. The only thing I don't have time for right now is a partner- that comes once everything is setup :P

Hehe, been doing this for years. TechNibble isn't my first forum ;)

Besides- you see me in almost every post because Moe (my mascot) is very noticable. The other guys post almost as much as I do- it's just a matter of appearance is all.

I've got to say, I'm liking Moe's new swag.

Thanks a lot! But credit goes to N.DESIGN STUDIO. I just borrowed their Christmas hat vector that they have up for download. I couldn't imagine taking the time to do it myself and not spend time on the website instead.

Moe thinks it's a bit tight but he's up for it so long as it's for the holiday spirit and not for profiteering. I agreed, but asked if he can wear it on the website too- he's undecided. What do you think?

lol, I think he should keep it on :)

Agreed. Although 'Go Green' needs a tinge of green :) lol

Sorry Methical- didn't see you there.

It does have green, see the black drop down menu- well in that category it turns green instead. I can't put my leaf in there without it looking out of place and if I go with green pre-hover text then it looks all strange, but on the plus side it grabs your eye.

I've debated about it countless times and decided to keep it gray. All though I already have ideas for NerdsForHire v.2 (which will include live support, forums and an online store)
