I have a client's Inspiron one 2330 that was posting with an unmountable boot volume. Naturally, I swapped the HDD. After this, no post screen. Pulled the ram, and we get beeps with an orange led indicator. With ram in either slot. no post.

Am I boned?

Pull the power cord and hold the power button down for 30 sec, then plug it back in and try booting.

Also, what happens if you put the old drive and all the ram back in place?

After clearing the voltage and reinstalling all the original parts, it starting turning off and then back on again, did this 3 times, then stay on with all fans blowing at max.

Had very similar problems with those units recently, had to order PWR Supply, didn't solve the issue.
Motherboard solved our case.
Machine was powering up with no beeps but fans kept spinning with a black screen.

I'd order PWR supply and mainboard to make sure, from Dell directly PWR supply was about 20$ and board 250$ish.

These are almost as bad as the old HP DV series laptops. The SATA cable they include with them is so cheapo and thin that it fails. Replacing that SATA cable and resetting the CMOS solves this issue most of the time. But they also have known motherboard and power supply issues.

When these models first came out for $750, we got 2 brand new units for only $350 apiece. Boy were those computers garbage. Since then we've seen over a dozen of them come into the shop with pretty much the same problem. These are lemon computers. Don't touch them.
