Macbook A1181 Random shutdown > now won't boot

It's a 2009 model. The machine is reassembled minus the case screws. So far, it's working as it should. I'm thinking it might be a positive delayed reaction to reapplying the thermal grease. Any thoughts on this?

I'm going to leave it on through the night and tax it a bit more tomorrow.

Thanks everyone for your feedback on this issue!

You said 2009 model? Unibody type 2009 model as in late 2009?

It's an early 2009 model non-unibody.

Okay, because the later ones are really almost completely different from the original macbooks. Just as a final thought, I'd finish off putting in the rest of the screws (and battery) just to make sure. It would suck to test it for days and then put the screws in and find it still has issues. I say this because I've had these style of macbooks where they would work fine while not fully reassembled, but as soon as you finished putting the screws back in the symptoms would reoccur.

I completely reassembled the Mac and taxed the hell out of it. It never shut off or acted strange. The computer was returned to the customer yesterday. We'll see what happens...

Just an update. It's been a week and the computer is doing great. Thanks to all for the valuable feedback!
