anyone any ideas how to get website back up the google rankings.

We have gone from being on either 1st or 2nd page for alot of our search terms to being on pages 7+ for most of them within last week or so.

nothing on the specific pages have changed.

Apart from the metatags
i have noticed that if your page title contains the most important keywords, you will hit 1st or 2nd page on those keywords.
of course, you also need links to your website from other good websites.
That change does not happen overnight, but after googlebot reindexes your site.

The keywords used in title must exist as text in the index page and also as metatags.

Give your home page a proper title that makes sense and also contains the keywords you strive most.

+1, this worked for my site as well. It took a few weeks but I've been on top ever since :)

My bad, lol I thought you were the OP. I paid for joeant. Yeah a lot are from this site. Most of the other ones you'll see I paid for ranging from $5-$50 per site.

Interesting. I've been doing the rounds on the free directories. Would you say you've got value from the paid ones?

BTW, is there a reason href links don't work in my sig? Is it a restriction or am I being thick?!

I have free directories as well but the paid ones pull more weight sometimes, at least that I have seen. PM Bryce about your sig, he has to adjust your permissions.

Hey thanks a lot - much appreciated.

My target area Berkshire in the UK and I also have the domain www.computerrepairberkshire.com on the basis that keywords in URL count. Do you think I should just use that to point to my mobiletechie site or do the location specific pages etc on that site?

I'm taking it that domain is not setup as of yet. I would still do the location specific pages on that site and I would also develop the computerrepairberkshire.com site as well.

Ok now I see it buy you have a typo on your link URL it's actually:
http://www.berkshirecomputerrepair.com/

Like I said would do another complete site and if anything I would probably change it up and do either .htm / .html vice php extensions on your pages for this one or better yet do a wordpress site for it.

Yes your current site is good. I'd just do some tweaking to it and make it better.

Not saying htm or html is better, but the other site is php so i'd make this one htm or html or even wordpress just to change it up and give the search engines something else to work with. Plus, i'm a huge fan of wordpress for ease of working with it and also for SEO capabilities.

Sent you a pm with site examples, wordpress is not just for blogs. (did not put url's here due to traffic stats etc)

How many inlinks from highly rated sites do you have to your site?

Hi sorry for the late reply.

for the site im talking about:

according to

seo toolbar-
yahoo linkdomain = 278
yahoo page links = 260
magestic seo domain links = 304
dmoz = 1

google webmaster tools
homepage = 58
other pages total = 32

i know i should be working more on links as most are from pretty low google pr sites (0-3) but really dont have the time and get fed up with constant ignores from other related sites when ask for link swaps with them, and yes most of them have been asked for swaps within articles pointing to similar/complimentary articles.
