A terrible client calls me, they are terrible because they are always cheap, take forever to pay, I have to get them on retainer now because they take so long to pay. I strictly only fix things for these people when they need it which is like every 4-5 months. Even if I did MSP I wouldn't onboard them because they are that bad.
They call me because they can't login to their email. The email they use is roundcube webmail hosted at justhost.com - LOL already pretty good right?
Anyways I finally get them logged into their email but they haven't been receiving mail for several days. Do a quick DNS lookup and their MX is broken, their website is down and the A record is broken, basically looks like a lapsed payment on the domain.
I do a whois on them and their domain registrar ... GET THIS ... is: https://domainjamboreellc.com/
support email? domainjamboree1@gmail.com
LOL
I goto the website and its literally nothing! Check it out for yourself: https://domainjamboreellc.com/
I called the number and the line goes straight to automatic voicemail. My client is in CA and the domain registrar is in WY. I literally don't even know what to tell these people, or how they even got hooked up with them.
Do they have any options? Their domain expires in a year, is the only option to wait for expiration and then purchase it elsewhere?
It should be a fun conversation because I think they'd be more willing to give up the domain they've had for 20 years rather than pay me a few thousand to figure it out.
