I have a friend who does graphic design but it seems that all of you are doing your own logo design. What do you use for design? I'm not all that graphically tallented.

You can download InkScape for free. It is similar to CorelDraw and you can save files as .EPS which you cannot do with som eother programs.

I personally use Photoshop. I'd like to use Gimp but I've been using Photoshop so long I could teach classes on it by now. lol

And I just had this conversation last night, actually. I started in web design - which started my business - this month, 14 years ago. I started with just the name and decided I needed a logo. I've changed my logo for what it seems like every few months since then for better branding.

After all these years, it wasn't until just recently that I started using only the name as my logo and fully intend on leaving it that way. I have a unique font, unique name, relatively easy to say and spell, it made sense.

After I changed it to that, I've received feedback from my clients and they like it. It's simple, clean and easily recognizable. So, if you have a good enough name, learn from me and focus on that and let it stand. A lot easier for clients to remember and refer out than "that guy with the squiggly thing." lol

Photoshop is great for designing elements for graphic design. You should also consider other parts of the Adobe Suite such as Illustrator which work alongside photoshop.

For some it can be quite complicated at first, but it is really an excellent program with lots of features.
