I just wanted to throw this out there for anyone on here looking to brand themselves with a logo for a reasonable price. The website http://logotournament.com/ is great. We just finished using them for our Woodland Village logo and I have to say I was skeptical at first but it ended up being a great experience. We paid $250 for our logo and had so many designs to choose from. I'll let you all read the details on the site. Hopefully someone can benefit from this.

$50? I haven't seen anyone that cheap in my area at least. The only problem with that though is you are resticted to one person's creativity. With logo tournament you get a chance to see a wide variety of options from many different artists (well over 100). Well worth the $250.

You can also use digitalpoint and run a contest and you decide the price. If you make it for $50 you will probably get at least a dozen different designs to pick from. But, if you paid $250 and you are happy with what you got then that is all that matters.

Yeah, I was really just throwing the idea out there for someone who needed some branding help. We were totally happy with it. I just think you get the biggest bang for your buck through something like logo touramanet or even digitalpoint like you mentioned rather than being restrcited to one graphic artist.

When you think about what it's going to be used for, absolutely. It's basically the identity of your business that you'll be using on your website, cards, shirts, etc for years to come. To me it's probably worth more...

hmm maybe... however I am using this at moment http://www.thelogocreator.com/ and it has created this, (but need to change the font)

but, need to revise it more, and use the text from this one

The only concern I have about using these types of sites when contracting out for logos is ensuring the folks that do these are creating original artwork and not using stock graphics or ripping off someone else's stuff. I don't want to rain on anyone's parade but it does happen and it's often difficult to catch because there are so many companies out there, small, medium and large that unless you have actually run across the logo or element before you will never know until one day the other company is knocking at your door.

The reason I mention this is because I remember a company that held a logo contest a few years ago and it happened to them.

I don't know that there is really an easy way to prevent it from happening, so the risk is there. Just be careful.

interesting...

I think a number of those logos are quite creative and very professional looking. It's quite an interesting concept. That being said....I understand the lure of this type of service, but it's also a good idea to support a local designer and develop a face-to-face relationship that could prove even more beneficial than the finished logo design. I know I don't always follow my own advice and doing something like this online is just easier sometimes. Just a thought.

I created a logo from vistaprint looks very professional and you get 2 different styles, the logo on it's own and a black amd white copy, for £12.

I am all about supporting the local guy but most guys here are expensive ($250 and up). And with that, like I mentioned before, it's only one persons creativity you're dealing with. For me, I prefer having a bunch of people throw their ideas (logo conepts) at me and go from there. Plus I was able to do this for the price of one local graphic artist.

that's cool...

Yeah...like, it's a pretty cool idea. If I didn't enjoy dabbling in graphic design myself, I'd probably go with something like that. Just playing 'devil's advocate'
