Logmein Free No More:(

It only works if you have gmail accounts on the automatic config. Not unless you want to set it up manually through RDP.

Interesting.

Thanks never heard of this one :)

Self hosted ScreenConnect. $325 one time fee. Updates for a year. After that pay a nominal fee if you want updates for another year.

People are pretty mad about what Logmein did...check out the tags...

Just found this:

http://www.remoteutilities.com/

Free for businesses for 10 users :)

From their site:

In the light of recent discontinuation of the free license for business use of one of the prominent remote desktop software vendors we decided that we should extend our free offering to cover not only home users, but also businesses.
The new free license replaces the license previously offered for free. Changes to the new free license include the following:
We will lift all feature limitations from the free license.
We will extend the scope of the license so that it can also be used in business.
We limit the number of remote computers to 10.
Each person or business is entitled to only one free license (one product key for 10 remote PCs).
You can use the free license both at home and in business, no strings attached.
As you can see, whether you use the license at home or in business, you have 10 remote PCs to register for free. Of course, we honor the previously generated free licenses (coded “RUT-F…”), and you are free to use them under the earlier terms and conditions.

Regards,

Honestly, 10 users is far too little.

It wouldn't be bad for helping your friends pretty much, but if you're making a real go at remote support you'd be better off with a paid service.

carcomp I understand where you are coming from, but it is an alternative that I did not know about and I hope it's useful for others as well :)

I tried Remote Utilities first before going to Logmein. It's still pretty rough around the edges, or at least it was when I tried it. If I'm gonna fork over $550 it better be darn close to Teamviewer-type polish and it just wasn't.

Pay the money or TeamViewer, it is cross platform, never had any problems with them, great support. Company branded installer! It will pay or itself in no time. Just get it it's tax deductable.

Good find Thanks. This will be perfect for my small biz customers that use LMI to remote into the office. +1 Rep

I had the same problem, clients logging into their work computers with logmein free. Remote Utilities will solve that problem. I will be using BeAnywhere, they gave me a great deal for the year since logmein is kicking the free accounts.

I renewed ScreenConnect tonight. Newest update 4.1 includes VOIP (or proximity thereof). I'm 3 double martinis in so shut up.

Any issues with the services? on occassion ive had to restart my screenconnect services so that the website responds. They wanted me to give them full access to my server to connect and troubleshoot it at anytime to figure it out...I could not comply.

Only time I've had to restart things is when I've been mucking about with settings and mucked the wrong thing. Reid (their main support guy) has asked to remote in to check things but I've never heard of them wanting unattended access.
